About the Opportunity

The People Operations Generalist will play a key role in supporting the daily operations and implementing initiatives of our People Operations team at Genomenon. This position calls for a highly organized, versatile individual with a background in human resources who is passionate about creating an inclusive, high-performing, and engaging work environment. The People Operations Generalist will report directly to the Director of People Operations and have a significant impact on the overall employee experience.

About You

As an integral member of our People Operations team, you are highly skilled in all aspects of HR administration, operations, and employee engagement. You will have the opportunity to contribute to our growth and success by implementing and enhancing HR processes and initiatives. You bring outstanding verbal and written communication skills to the table and your strong interpersonal skills help you build and maintain productive relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.

As a skilled host, you possess expertise in organizing and managing executive-level meetings or events, with an eye for the smallest details.

Position Responsibilities

  • Perform all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests, including managing routine HR processes such as employee onboarding and offboarding, support in management of benefits and compensation, handling visa-related issues, overseeing time off requests, and maintaining vacation and engagement calendars.
  • Contribute to the recruitment process by identifying candidates, conducting reference checks, and issuing employment contracts. Facilitate interviews and hire suitable candidates for open roles in collaboration with department managers to identify the required skills and competencies.
  • Address employment-related inquiries from candidates, employees, and supervisors, redirecting complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate personnel. Also participate in employee relations activities, which includes conducting internal audits, disciplinary meetings, investigations, and conflict resolutions.
  • Support the management of HR databases and HRIS systems effectively and utilize HR technologies such as recruiting platforms, and digital tools like Google Workspace to manage data and streamline processes.
  • Uphold compliance with company policies, federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as recommended best practices. Ensure strict compliance through active participation in the implementation of these policies and regulations.
  • Execute employee engagement initiatives and events to foster a high-performing, inclusive, and mission-aligned culture. Develop and implement strategies to promote diversity and inclusion across the organization.
  • Coordinate training sessions, seminars, office functions, meetings, and events. Handle responsibilities including inventory management, coordinating schedules, overseeing any catering or refreshment needs, trip planning, budgeting, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned to help the People Operations team achieve its objectives.

Required Skills and Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
  • 2+ years experience as an HR Coordinator, HR Assistant, or relevant human resources/administrative position.
  • Good knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience with HR databases and HRIS systems.
  • Experience building, maintaining and presenting HR data analytics
  • Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects.
  • Strong phone, email, and in-person communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
